Capt. Mathias began his career with India Steamship Ltd. in 1988 and worked his way up the ranks to Master Mariner, also achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and an equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science along the way.
He has sailed on General Cargo Vessels, Capesize bulkers, Lakers, Fully refrigerated reefer vessels and command experience on Panamax / post Panamax container vessels.
In 2009, he completed a post-graduation at the University of Plymouth Business School, and was awarded an MSc in International Shipping with Distinction.
He hung up his seaboots in 2013 and has since served as Operations Manager - South Asia with Inchcape India, General Manager - Gobel / Rainoil Nigeria, Inchcape Qatar - Head of Survey and Inchcape Qatar -Head of Marine Division.
Brian is an open-minded individual with a flexible approach to work, which enables accommodation of change. Able to work well with a group or on own initiative. Willing to take any responsibilities and assignments, regardless of the challenge. A self-reliant individual with the ability to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly. Enjoys learning new skills and methods of working. Takes pride in producing excellent work and can accept constructive criticism. Organised and can work under pressure in a busy environment.
