Chief Engineer Brian Thornborrow has conducted surveys for grounding damage on behalf of Owners, P&I Clubs, Lawyers and Insurance interests and other concerned parties. He has acted for underwriters on post sinking/salvage survey and repair claims. He has undertaken a significant number of surveys on Machinery and Collision damage. Pre-Entry and follow up P&I Condition Surveys on AHTS, Container, General Cargo, Bulk and DP vessels in addition to numerous Bulk Cargo, General Cargo, Ro-Ro, and Refrigerated damage/shortage surveys. He has undertaken underwater surveys of vessels damaged by grounding and port channel soundings using sonar. Fire damage and Fuel Oil Quality surveys on vessels and cargo for P&I and H&M. Has acted as Warranty Surveyor on cargo of up to 4500 tonnes, including Gantry Cranes and RTG’s. He has acted as an expert witness for local P&I Correspondents, UK Clubs and Lawyers.
