Salvage operation in the UAE

This was our second full salvage operation under Aalto Marine and with the full backing of our client who was confident in our abilities from our past expereince and successful execution of another similar casualty. 

The barge was grounded in a very environmentally delicate area with beautiful beach resorts close by and an expensive industrial de-salination plant on the other. A lot of precautionary measures were taken to ensure that our response did not cause any damage to the area and, also importantly, we did not affect the safe operations of the de-salination plant.

Salvage in the UAE

It took a little over a week for the mobilisation, preparations and documentation to execute the operation. Timing was critical, synchronising all the teams together to ensure that we didn't miss the tidal opportunity.

With a lot of teamwork, the barge was safely re-floated and towed to a nearby sheltered area where she was re-delivered. The grounding area was then cleaned up and put back as close as possible to the condition we found it in.
