A recent urgent enquiry required lifting a 250 Ton vessel from the seaside onto a heavy lift vessel. WIthin the limited time, a lifting plan was organised, and in close coordination with the client, carriers, port agents, EHS, and Charterers, we executed a rather difficult operation.
The whole operation took 8 hours to execute from the point of lifting the boat out of the water to the final set down on the vessel hatch covers. The operation required some fine manoeuvering from Captain Peter Valles to bring the vessel between the two cranes with centimetres to spare.
This was in all aspects a team effort with great work from my colleague Sameh Gomaa, the vessel officers and crew, stevedores and the very supportive Ship Agents, Cargo Owners, and Charterers.
